So, first off, make sure you go for quality…all the time!

Here are a couple of suggestions for you to have to get quality completed glass block shower enclosure.

First tip is to choose the best shower base. There are three types of bases you can use, so make certain you choose the one that would fit your type of bathroom best.

Acrylic bases have no seams. So they look free flowing, clean and these are easiest to install. Unfortunately, the sizes are limited, so it is not possible to customize.

Next type of base is the custom mud set pan base. What is good about this type of base is that its customized, and really great to use for bathrooms that are non-traditional. This type is set right at home, mixed and created on site, so it is really the ‘customized’ look that would be its best feature. Sorry to say though, the process is untidy and lengthy, and if not done properly, it would be prone to leaks and water damage sooner or later.

Last type of base is the hundred percent extruded polystyrene foam base. This hundred percent water proof material would be considered the best type of base because, of course, it is water proof, but, you are able to customize it as well. Installation is a lot neater, and faster as well. Disadvantage? Its price.

Second tip is for you to use superior materials for the bordering walls. Best tip would be to use wedi building panel, not only is it polymer and cement based on the outside, it uses a core foam interior, or the closed cell system, on the inside, making it water proof. Best of all, it is light and neat to cut.
